I read an amazing book called Freefall, by Roderick Gorden. It is in the middle of the Tunnels series. This fiction book is about three kids, Will, Chester, and a girl named Elliot. They are trapped underground because of a battle with the Styx in a previous book. The Styx are a group of people who live deep in the Earth's crust and they would do anything to get power and poison all Topsoilers. Topsoilers are the people who reside above ground. The three kids have to stop at nothing to get back out and defeat the Styx before they release a terrible virus above ground. I liked this book because it was told like a vivid dream with lots of description, and the ending was somewhat unpredictable. However, you are left with a cliffhanger at the finish because the series isn't anywhere near over yet. A lot more adventure and danger is foreshadowed, though. I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

Inkheart By: Cornelia Funke

I recently finished reading a book called Inkheart. Inkheart is about a girl named Meggie and her father Mo.
Maggie's mother and two cats were trapped in a book while Mo was reading aloud. Then three people, Capricorn, Basta, and Dustfinger, came out of the book. The book that Mo was reading aloud from was called Inkheart, and a few years later The evil Capricorn, and his worker Basta, tried to take Mo and the book to have  Mo read Capricorn, Basta, and Dustfinger back into the book. Dustfinger was Capricorn's bait the whole time, but turned on Capricorn when he took Mo, Meggie, and Meggie's Aunt Elinor prisoners. Dustfinger got them out safely and they went away from Capricorn's Village and traveled to Inkheart's author Fenoglio. Elinor returned home instead of going to Fenoglio's house and found that all of her books were destroyed. I won't spoil the ending so you'll just have to read the book yourself!

I read the Scorch Trials, the second book in the Maze Runner series by James Dashner. Sorry, I still don't know how to underline words, so if anyone could help me, that would be great! The main character is Thomas, and just a day after being rescued from the Glade, everything goes wrong. His best friend, Teresa, is mysteriously taken, and he can't communicate with her anymore. The people who rescued them turned out to just be illusions, and a man from WICKED- an organization, explained to them that the Trials were not over. The Trials are like tests, supposedly to root out the unworthy. The whole group of Gladers are then forced to step through a teleportation device into a very hot place, with the instructions of getting to clear land. However, there are a few problems. Cranks, almost the equivalent of zombies, are after them. And why are there plaques all over saying that Thomas was a leader? I loved this book because of description, the author pushed the limits, there was a logical reason for mostly everything in this fiction book, and you really got to know the characters.

The Wednesday War

     By Gary D. Schmidt

I have read the book The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt. The story is based on months instead of chapters but the months are like chapters but longer. The story is about a student named Holling HoodHood and a teacher named Mrs.Baker. At the beginning of the story, which is Holling's first day at school, Holling starts to be hated by Mrs. Baker. An example of Mrs.Baker hating Holling was when the class were doing sentence structure. Mrs. Baker was giving short sentences to the other students but when Mrs. Baker gave Holling his sentence it was very long. About three months into the school year there is a cream puff mix up and Holling ended up having to give the class cream puffs. There is a lot of Shakespeare in the book since Mrs. Baker likes Shakespeare and also because Holling stays in the afternoon on Wednesday. During all of this there is a war going in Vietnam. Mrs. Baker's husband is in the war and he has been missing for about three months during the books. On the last month of the school year Mrs. Baker takes the class camping even though she hates camping. She does it anyway because they have found her husband and since she took her previous classes, she decided to take this one too.

The Mystery at Lilac Inn By: Carolyn Keen

The Mystery at Lilac Inn is the fourth book in the Nancy Drew series. Nancy and her friend Helen go to visit their friend Emily at an Inn that she recently bought. Emily's fiance, Dick, was in New York advertising the Inn. Nancy and Helen were going to be Emily's bridesmaids. Nancy heard about a mystery that involved rumors of Lilac Inn being haunted. Many dangerous things happened such as a spear and rock being thrown at Nancy, the cottage Helen and Nancy were staying in being time-bombed, and Helen being knocked out. Nancy was impersonated by a person who pretended to be four people too! The result of the thieves of Emily's diamonds, bad employment choices, and betrayers to the inn will be very shocking!

Mockingjay

I just finished the final book in The Hunger Games Series: Mockingjay. It was mainly about the districts in war with the Capital. The capital rescued certain people from the Catching Fire arena such as Peeta Mellark. The Capital tries to use Peeta against  Katniss who was currently in District thirteen, which is located underground. Thirteen rescued Beetee and Katniss from the arena. First, Katniss and her best friend from district twelve, Gale, go to District eight to see the wounded. While they are leaving the hospital, the capital drops more bombs, not knowing Katniss is there. Katniss is told to retreat through her earpiece but takes it off and tries to take down Capital hovercrafts. Gale joins her and they shoot down many; Katniss with her bow and arrow and Gale by her side. When the Capital retreats, Katniss and Gale go back to thirteen's hovercraft. Back at thirteen, a rescue group has just left to go save Peeta and Johanna Mason. Gale joined them and came back all alive with both Peeta and Johanna. Peeta has been tortured by the Capital with Tracker Jacker venom ( wasps) and is now hallucinating that everything bad that has happened to him is her fault. The biggest thing he blames on her was making the capital burn district twelve killing his family and friends. Thirteen cures Peeta while sending him to training for war with Johanna and Katniss. He has guards with him wherever he goes. The war begins and everyone in training goes to fight the Capital. The war goes on until there is a winner. You have to read the book to find out what happens to everyone.

The Candy Shop War

Hello, I just finished a very memorable book called the Candy Shop War. Sorry, I have no idea how to underline words on blogs. I remember thinking it was going to be very boring and drawn out at first, but I was quickly proven wrong. The author is Brandon Mull, who also wrote the Fablehaven series. I loved this book because of the witty jokes that are spread evenly through every chapter, the amazing description that told just enough for you to easily vision the character or event, but still allowed you to use your imagination to fill in the blanks. The book is mainly about a boy named Nate and his friends, Pigeon, Summer, and Trevor. They start off as an unsuccessful treasure hunting group, but everything changes dramatically when the four meet Mrs.White, a suspiciously kind old lady who is opening her own candy shop. She "accidentally" let's slip that she has magic candy, and soon both you and the characters are spiraling into danger, excitement, and candy.

Warriors series: power of the three: Dark River

I am reading my 14th Warrior's book, in the Power of the Three saga, called Dark River. It is about Thunderclan, Riverclan, and Windclan are going to  have a battle for no reason. It starts when Riverclan lost their land to twoleg kits (human children). They refuse to let the other clans know because they will think Riverclan is weak and attack. So, anyway Riverclan moves onto the gathering island, a sacred place where all clans are supposed to gather and speak about news in their clans. So While this is happening Hollypaw, a Thunderclan apprentice is begging Firestar, Thunderclan leader, to help Riverclan because she thinks its ridiculous to have a battle for no reason. So she slips away and goes to ask Willowpaw, a Riverclan medicine apprentice, whats going on. Mothwing, the Riverclan Medicine cat confirms she can see whats going. So Willowpaw shows Hollypaw the mess of the old Riverclan camp which Riverclan warriors are trying to make a huge moat around so they kids cant get over anymore and only cats can. Then when Hollypaw returns, Jaypaw, her medicine cat apprentice brother who is blind, and Leafpool, Medicine cat are taking a trip to Windclan to inform Onestar, Windclan leader, nothing bad is happening. So they go there, and they speak to onestar, who is convinced, that as long as his warriors dont hunt on Windclan ground then they dont have to fight and as long as Riverclan gets their land back, they dont have to fight. But then, a cry is heard, and a few of the Windclan's queen's kits, have gone missing. So Onestar declares there will, without a doubt will be a battle. Windclan thinks Riverclan stoll their kits because a patrol came back saying they saw Riverclan leaving their camp. Hollypaw thinks the Riverlcan would never steal the kits and tells her brothers about the situation. But it turns out, that Lionpaw knows exactly where the kits are. He was meeting with a Riverclan cat underground, it these tunnels leading to all different clans. One day the kits almost followed the windclan cat into the tunnels. So thats where he thinks the kits have gone.

Now I will keep reading to find out what happens!

Ally-Radiance
I have read the book before and it is sad along the way. The book is a good recommendation to others.

Main Street-Welcome to Camden Falls

The book that I am recommending is called Main Street-Welcome to Camden Falls by Ann M. Martin. The book is about two girls moving to Camden Falls, New York. Flora and Ruby don't want to go to Camden Falls but the have no choice-their parents are dead, and the grandmother, Min, is taking them in. It's strange to be starting again in a new place. Luckily Flora and Ruby find new friends as well.

Olivia is the girl next door who likes to organize things. Nikki lives on the wrong side of town and doesn't want to be friends at first. But once their secrets are shared, friendship becomes easier. Flora and Ruby begin to stitch together their new lives in Camden Falls.

This book has thrills, emotional, bad, and good things. In the story there is some shop lifting, false suspects, and a strong friend relationship that will grow bigger everyday.

I am reading The Creature From My Closet by Obert Skye. It is an amazing book, it is about a boy who  stuffs everything in his closet. He stuffs books in his closet that his mom gives him too. One day his closet was knocking at him. And then he went to look at the closet a monster comes out. After a while he figured out that it was a monster up to his waste and that it wasn't scary. He thinks that it is mix between willi-wonka and frankenstien because he talks about candy, grunts a lot and he always says doctor. That is all so goodbye.

Goblet of Fire

I am going to read Goblet of Fire over the summer. (Yes Joy, I am going to read it.) It seems like a very long book and the beginning is very odd.

adavies- Radiance

That book sounds really good. Imagine having to go to school in your after life though! By the way, how did Riley, the girl die? Why did Riley have to go to school if she wasn't even alive though? THis book seems like it has lots of mystery and whimsy in it.

I strongly recommend Flawed Dogs, by Berkeley Breathed. It is packed full of small jokes and has amazingly comical but realistic pictures. It is about a pampered and flawless Dachshund named Sam the Lion who lives happily with his owner, Heidy, until disaster strikes. That disaster is called Cassius, a poodle. He makes it look like Sam took the baby, and Sam is hit by Uncle Hamish's rifle. This is all because of Cassius and the fact that Sam looked very, very, sick.

JoyJoy

heyJoy. how is the book Marley

I am reading a book called Radiance. It is about a girl named Riley. She died and went to a after life. in this book you just learn about how she lives in the after life.

I am reading Burned, one of the Hardy Boys books. It is about burning and copying illegal cd's.
I think this book is interesting when one of the characters Joe asks one of the kids who illegally burns cd's gets mad at him and challenges him to a dodge ball game. When they do right at the end he gets drilled in the stomach.

For all those people who like adventure....

I think you should read Jaguar Stones, Middleworld. It is about a lazy good for nothing boy who goes to Maya after his parents dissapere. With the help of Lola a fastalking Maya girl he discovers the ancient Maya are alive.

jack

i think that book would be a nice book for me to read.

I am currently in the middle of reading Marley, and it is a very funny book, anyone in need for a laugh will love it! It is about one dog, Marley's life and how it goes. He loves to chew, has a thunder phobia, and wields the deadly weapon called a tail, which he uses to whack everything below three feet up in the air. Despite the fact that most everything in their house is in shambles, his owners still love and keep him.

Why are you reading that book Greg

I also think you would like The Boxcar Children: The Yellow House Mystery. It of course is a mystery, but it has a lot of different twists and turns. Its book number 3 and has an AR test. The book has you so interested its hard to stop reading! I think anyone who likes a mystery would enjoy this book.

Olivia- Till Death do us bark

Olivia- is this a good book? Zit sounds VERY creepy.

Radiance

Right now I am reading a book called Radiance. It is about a girl named Riley who is dead. She went to an after life called Here and Now. She went for her first day of school. She had to go on a stage and talk about her life on earth. The people running this said that they did this because they want to find the right spot for her. They said her spot was as a soul catcher. That is where you try to get the dead people who are still on earths plane to come to the after life or Here and Now.

I like the book called The Secret Of Pirates Hill becuase it is filled with adventure

I am read White Fang, by Jack London. It is an amazing book and I recommend it to everyone, wolf-lovers and non alike! It is so vivid that I was surprised! I saw it in the library, with an old scratched cover, and I knew that usually people skip right past those old "classic" ones. I sure am glad that i picked it up! It is about a wolf born in the merciless Wild, and as he tries to survive he meets some Native Americans who give him a name- White Fang. In my opinion, this was the greatest book ever!

Till Death Do Us Bark

It is the 3rd book to the 43 old cemetary road books also known as dying to meet you. It is about how they find a dog and want to keep it. I love these books because they are all just letters and i think they are amazing and interesting!

I have too Donovan

I have read the whole series. I couldn't believe that Silinia was Kronos's spy. I'm proud that Luke sacrificed himself to save the Olympians.

My book is about a girl that get's kidnapped. Theodore is trying to find the person that abducted her. The police suspect a mad man named Jack Leeper. Will Jack Leeper kill April or will Theo rescue her in time?

Donovan- How is the book Artemis Fowl. I might read it over the summer. I have heard many people like it. Will you tell me about it?

So any good survival books you guys recomend.

I am reading The Westing Game. I think it is a amazing book. It has adventure and a lot of action! It is written by Ellen Raskin.

I am reading the first Maximum Ride by James Patterson.  Ally recommended it to me.  It is a violent book about a girl named Max.  She and her siblings have special powers.  In some parts of this book, I want to cry and in some parts I feel like I'm in the story.  There are 7 books in this series.  In this book, one of the girls, the youngest one, gets captured and taken to a science lab.  Max and the rest must rescue her.

Adrian how is the book?

Right now I am reading Danny the Champion of World It is a very good book because it is realistic. Danny faces many life challenges. his father lives and works at a gastation and teaches him about mechanics and engineering.

Right now i am reading N.F.L. Records by a author named Kelley. I like and also want other people to read this book because the football fans would really enjoy this book because it gives a lot of records and a little information about the N.F.L. players.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

A while ago I finished Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief. The first book of the Percy Jackson series. Percy finds out the gods of Olympus are real and that some suspect that he stole Zeus's master bolt. While Percy is going to camp-half blood with his mom while the Minotaur chases him. His mother disappears and he has 10days to find and return the master bolt and try to find his mom.

The book I believe you would enjoy is, Dying to Meet You. The book is about an 11 year old boy that is alone in a mansion because his parents left him because he believed in ghosts. The boys best friend is a ghost, the book is about this one guy that rents the house for the summer and there adventure together. There are other books in the series! It is a very good book and I think you would enjoy it!

I am reading an awesome book called Theodore Boone: The Abduction. It is amazing you guys should read it.

You Can't Come in Here

I just finished the book You Can't Come in Here. It was very interesting but not as scary as I hoped. It was about a girl who has these friends that are home schooled and tell lies to protect who they really are. One night at a sleepover the 2 friends reveal who they really are
