11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass

The 11 Birthdays book is about a boy and a girl who have their birthdays on the same exact day and year. Since they were babies, they were best friends until they both turned 10. The boy, Leo, told some horrible stuff about the girl, Amanda. Now, it's been a year and they still haven't made up. It's the day after their birthday and after she wakes up, the same day repeats itself. Now Amanda and Leo have to team up to stop the continuous day so it doesn't stay like that forever.

I read an amazing book called Freefall, by Roderick Gorden. It is in the middle of the Tunnels series. This fiction book is about three kids, Will, Chester, and a girl named Elliot. They are trapped underground because of a battle with the Styx in a previous book. The Styx are a group of people who live deep in the Earth's crust and they would do anything to get power and poison all Topsoilers. Topsoilers are the people who reside above ground. The three kids have to stop at nothing to get back out and defeat the Styx before they release a terrible virus above ground. I liked this book because it was told like a vivid dream with lots of description, and the ending was somewhat unpredictable. However, you are left with a cliffhanger at the finish because the series isn't anywhere near over yet. A lot more adventure and danger is foreshadowed, though. I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

Inkheart By: Cornelia Funke

I recently finished reading a book called Inkheart. Inkheart is about a girl named Meggie and her father Mo.
Maggie's mother and two cats were trapped in a book while Mo was reading aloud. Then three people, Capricorn, Basta, and Dustfinger, came out of the book. The book that Mo was reading aloud from was called Inkheart, and a few years later The evil Capricorn, and his worker Basta, tried to take Mo and the book to have  Mo read Capricorn, Basta, and Dustfinger back into the book. Dustfinger was Capricorn's bait the whole time, but turned on Capricorn when he took Mo, Meggie, and Meggie's Aunt Elinor prisoners. Dustfinger got them out safely and they went away from Capricorn's Village and traveled to Inkheart's author Fenoglio. Elinor returned home instead of going to Fenoglio's house and found that all of her books were destroyed. I won't spoil the ending so you'll just have to read the book yourself!

I read the Scorch Trials, the second book in the Maze Runner series by James Dashner. Sorry, I still don't know how to underline words, so if anyone could help me, that would be great! The main character is Thomas, and just a day after being rescued from the Glade, everything goes wrong. His best friend, Teresa, is mysteriously taken, and he can't communicate with her anymore. The people who rescued them turned out to just be illusions, and a man from WICKED- an organization, explained to them that the Trials were not over. The Trials are like tests, supposedly to root out the unworthy. The whole group of Gladers are then forced to step through a teleportation device into a very hot place, with the instructions of getting to clear land. However, there are a few problems. Cranks, almost the equivalent of zombies, are after them. And why are there plaques all over saying that Thomas was a leader? I loved this book because of description, the author pushed the limits, there was a logical reason for mostly everything in this fiction book, and you really got to know the characters.
